Welcome

Welcome to HTBomb's Magical Hot Wheels. I played with Mattel Hot Wheels when I was a kid and began collecting them as an adult in 1996 shortly after leaving a 79 cent limited edition Treasure Hunt Passion on the pegs at KMart. That car is now worth $100! Several months later I found and bought three Treasure Hunts at Target. I was hooked.

I am interested in buying childhood collections of toy cars: Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Corgi, Husky, Dinky and Topper Johnny Lightning; Slot cars from Cox, Aurora and Tyco AF/X; Plastic model kits from AMT, Monogram, MPC. Please contact me via my website link below.

2012 Hot Wheels Car Of The Year Award

HTBomb's 2012 Hot Wheels Car Of The Year Award goes to

Larry Wood's Altered Ego.

Likely the most controversial release of 2012 the Altered Ego is also the car of the year.  Some people love it, some people hate it.  A few have even attempted to "fix" it by chopping it up and moving the front wheels back to where they belong.  That's cool but boring.

A note about how the award was decided. Other blogs attempt to legitimize their choices by accepting votes yet the fine print reveals only a handful of people took the time to vote.  Here at Magical Hot Wheels Blog we simply go with what we like.
