Welcome

Welcome to HTBomb's Magical Hot Wheels. I played with Mattel Hot Wheels when I was a kid and began collecting them as an adult in 1996 shortly after leaving a 79 cent limited edition Treasure Hunt Passion on the pegs at KMart. That car is now worth $100! Several months later I found and bought three Treasure Hunts at Target. I was hooked.

I am interested in buying childhood collections of toy cars: Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Corgi, Husky, Dinky and Topper Johnny Lightning; Slot cars from Cox, Aurora and Tyco AF/X; Plastic model kits from AMT, Monogram, MPC. Please contact me via my website link below.

I'd like to see a Hot Wheels Bricklin SV-1

Now that we have the Hot Wheels 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 I cannot help but want a 1975 Bricklin SV1 to display right along side.  The Bricklin surely inspired the DeLorean and there are many parallels to their stories and designs including the obvious: mid-engine sports car, gull-wing doors, unusual body material, etc.

Intended as a safety car of the future the Bricklin bombed in the marketplace.  Didn't help that it's sporty looks were not properly supported by its anemic engine; remember, however, that these were the early days of strict emission standards.  Note the huge safety bumper that looks like it's being swallowed by the dent-resistant plastic body.  Gotta love it.
